Marmas are significant Ayurvedic sites on the body that can be stimulated to achieve overall health and balance, as Marmas are junctions for several types of tissue elements in the body that include blood and lymph vessels, muscles and bone tissue, and nerves. Marma Abhyanga is a wonderful combination of Ayurvedic massage with a focus on the Marmas.
The therapists go through each of the main Marmas on the body from the feet right up to the base of the head. Focus is on applying the techniques with appropriate rhythm and pressure. An overview is also provided on the organs and glands corresponding to each Marma.

Pinda Sweda (Ayurvedic Bolus Therapy)

Using special bolus filled with medicated grains, warm oil is massaged all over the body. This is a very effective technique especially for removing stiffness from the muscles and joints. It is an intensive form of Abhyanga as the medicated bolus with the grains and herbs enable the oils to penetrate deeper into the tissues. This therapy is highly therapeutic and rejuvenative in itself as it improves blood circulation, clears away wastes from the body, strengthens digestion, enhances complexion and promotes sound sleep.
